ABC's iview catch-up service will be upgraded to high definition in the first half of this year, according to a report published by TV Tonight.
"I'm pleased to say it's approved and currently on the worklist of the team. It will be coming in the first half of this year," ABC Head of Programming and Digital, Rebecca Heap told TV Tonight.
ABC has yet to decide whether iview with be viewable in full high definition (1080p) due to the cost and bandwidth requirements, but Heap says the improvement will nonetheless be significant.
At present, the standard resolution for iview content is 640x360 (360p).
