Amaysim is officially Australia's newest broadband provider, and as of today, is reselling access to the National Broadband Network. The telco has just three plans, and they all have unlimited data. The two main differences are speed and price.
$60 a month gets you unlimited data, and download speeds of up to 12Mbps, $70 a month gets you speeds of up to 25Mbps, and $90 gets you speeds of up to 100Mbps. These plans are all available month-to-month, and don't attract any addition fees. Notably, Amaysim says customers can jump and down speed tiers with without paying an extra.
If you need a modem, Amaysim will sell you a Netcomm NF17ACV for $140. Alternatively, you can bring your own.
Amaysim will only deliver internet connections over the National Broadband Network. If you're still on ADSL or Cable, you won't be able to get your broadband through Amaysim until your premise is connected to the National Broadband Network. At present, Amaysim is offering all NBN technology types other than Sky Muster.
Amaysim head of broadband Rob Appel says simplicity is at the heart of the telco's new product family.
"While developing our plans, one thing was abundantly clear – there’s a crisis of confusion around the NBN that’s costing consumers who don’t have the time to sift through all the information to find the right plan for their needs and budget," said Appel.
"Our Amaysim NBN plans are designed to take away the hassles that surround choosing the right home internet plan. All of our NBN plans come with unlimited data, no lock-in contracts, no standard activation fees and no fees for switching between plans."
