Despite only running for a limited time, it was a popular deal for BYOD customers happy to shell out upfront to save over twelve months. But if you missed out last time around, good news: the Super Pack is making a return this week.
Aldi Mobile will again offer its one-year SIM-only plan to customers from Wednesday, June 28. For $249, you'll get unlimited national calls and messages, plus 42GB of data to use over 365 days - the equivalent of 3.5GB per month.
Divide your total cost into twelve months, and it's $20.75 per month for all of the above. However, the plan doesn't include international usage, video MMS, or premium calls. You'll also need to be aware of your data use, as the entire 42GB is available to use from day one of your year-long plan.
Compared to similar prepaid plans from Aldi Mobile, it's an attractive option for customers with the discipline to ration out data over twelve months. The regular L Value Pack is priced at $25 per month and includes 2.25GB of monthly data (plus rollover for the next 30 days), but you do get 100 minutes of international calls with each recharge.
What about other telcos?
If you're looking for a $20 per month deal outside Aldi Mobile, you'll find the average amount of included data is 2GB per month (from providers including Yomojo, Vaya, iiNet, TeleChoice and more - see above). So if you're not afraid of signing on for a year, and don't plan to go wild with data, the Super Pack is a great offer.
Customers who do exceed that 42GB earlier than expected can add on extra gigabytes as needed. Aldi Mobile's 2GB Data Add-on is priced at $15 over 30 days, and customers can add up to 10 of these 2GB bolt-ons to their Super Pack over twelve months.
Aldi Mobile's One Year Super Pack will be available in stores only from June 28. Once you've purchased your pack, you'll need to activate it via the included voucher code (either online, via SMS, or over the phone) by June 30, 2018.
