Huawei's Australian arm has decided to make its "Screen Promise" standard across all premium smartphones it brings into the country. In the short term, this means that if you pick up a P10 or P10 Plus, Huawei will replace your screen (or device, in some cases) if you happen to crack or shatter the display within the first three months of purchase.
Three months might not seem like a long time, but at the very least, it seems like the screen promise could help alleviate the terrible feeling of breaking a phone you just bought.
Making a claim will differ depending on where you buy your phone from. If you purchase a P10 through Vodafone you will have to take it to a Vodafone store or call up a customer care number. If you purchase either device through any other retailer, you'll be able to make your claim through the "Screen Promise Portal" on Huawei's website. Proof of purchase is required, and the promise only covers phones bought in Australia.
If you're making a claim through Huawei, the company says you can expect a repaired or replaced device within three to five working days.
Huawei's Screen Promise is limited to one claim per phone, and doesn't extend to any screen damage caused because of water.
Huawei’s screen promise also covers the Mate 9.
