If you’re looking to save on your new smartphone, Huawei has two new wallet-friendly options launching in the coming months: the Y7, and the Y5 2017.
The Huawei Y7 will launch for $299 in July. Key specifications include a 5.5-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 435 eight-core processor, 16GB of expandable storage, 2GB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing camera, dual SIM slots (4G + 3G), and a 4000mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat (7.0) customised with EMUI 5.1
If you still want to spend less, the Huawei Y5 2007 will for launch for $199 in August. Key specifications include a 5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor, 16GB of expandable storage, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 3000mAh battery. It runs Android Marshmallow (6.0) customised with EMUI 4.1.
Neither phone has a fingerprint reader.
Both new Huawei devices will be available through "participating retailers". Specifics have yet to be confirmed, but Huawei devices have previously been available through the likes of Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Officeworks, and Australia Post.
