Just before the R11 is due to hit our shores, OPPO has snuck in an extra phone launch: the A77. The A77 fleshes out OPPO's family of (comparatively) affordable smartphones with a $448 device, sitting nicely between the $328 A57 and the $598 R9.
OPPO is pitching the A77 directly at selfie lovers, with a plethora of new front-facing camera functionality. This includes anti-shake, beautification, simulated depth of field, and the ability to take selfies by waving your hand.
Key specifications for the A77 include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a MediaTek MT6750T processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, 16MP selfie camera, and a 3200mAh battery. The A77 runs Android Marshmallow customised with OPPO's ColorOS overlay.
The A77 will be on sale from Monday.
Coinciding with the news, OPPO's announced a new partnership with The Good Guys. The Good Guys will range OPPO smartphones in more 100 stores nationwide starting from July 17. JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks are OPPO's two other key retail partners in Australia.
